Proud to say I have almost all of them. Great music year – hope you’ll post more of these lists!!!
Always love your taste, but Odds and Sods over Quadrophenia? Really?
That list is responsible for me picking up Jackson Browne’s Late for the Sky. Thank you so much for that. It has certainly made my listening experience a better one.
What a year…..the 70’s were a great decade for rock music, maybe the best.
Love JB You ever see the doco Hotel California on the BBC was all about that scene

I have been listening to “Something/Anything?” ever since I was 18 in 1987. I could and will listen to this album forever and ever. Todd Rundgren is my hero (along with C.C., of course!)!!!! The remainder of this list just shows precisely how glorious a time it was for music.
I wish I’d found Todd sooner, but glad his music is part of my life now!
It is NEVER too late to find Todd! I’ve always said that ina perfect world, everyone would know at least one of Todd’s songs…and not the same song either. He has been underrated for so terribly long, not receiving the acclaim I feel he richly deserves for all of his forward thinking accomplishments with music, video, stage productions and computer technology. He has ALWAYS been ahead of the curve and I wish that he was recognized for that fully. Who knows if he wants that for himself or if he even cares but I just wish that for him.
Jackson Browne’s Late For The Sky should be on a list of top albums of all time……:)-
Almost Famous asserts my belief that I was born in the wrong time period. Wish I could’ve kicked it with you at Rolling Stone.
For the Roses; good pick.

[…] And finally, it all comes full circle, you see, it’s all connected, because what I found on that webpage on Cameron Crowe’s website was his list of the Top Ten Albums of 1973! […]
Well, even our boy Cameron was a little late… Something/Anything was released in March of 1972 🙂
Thanks Cameron. I wore out several phono needles in the 70’s. It’s funny how our oldies are very much older than our parents oldies! Washing you 1st car in the driveway on a hot summer day playing Jackson Brown and Bowie on the custom installed 8 track that plays both sides at the same time. Dont forget the match book!
