Singles in Seattle

There will be a free 20th anniversary screening of Singles this weekend in Saturday in Seattle. The 1992 film will kick off Fremont Outdoor Movies’ 20th anniversary of their summer series. More details can be found over at their official site. In case you wondering, Cameron will not be in attendance, but I’m hoping to attend. Let’s hope for some sunshine this weekend in the Emerald City…

In honor of Billy Wilder’s birthday and the fact that his classic film, The Apartment, turned 52 years old this past week, we present a new article. Cameron wrote about his affinity for this film in an article entitled “Billy & Me” for the UK newspaper, The Guardian.

Kind of ironic after the post earlier this week, but I just found out that the Ritzy Picturehouse in Brixton, UK will be playing a double feature of Almost Famous and Harold and Maude this weekend! The showing will be Sunday, June 17th. More details over at their official site.

Harold and Maude Goes Criterion

As you may know, Cameron is a big fan of Harold and Maude, Hal Ashby’s 1971 cult classic starring Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon. Criterion has recently released the film on DVD and Blu-ray and we wanted to bring it to your attention. If you haven’t seen it, we urge you to give it a look. A new addition to the Journalism section today as Cameron profiles Led Zeppelin’s Physical Graffiti tour in this Rolling Stone article from May, 1975. In this piece entitled “Led Zep Conquers States, ‘Beast’ Prowls to the Din of Hordes”, you’ll find some vintage Robert Plant and Jimmy Page quotes as the band wraps up their North American trip.
