Backstage at the recent We Bought A Zoo soundtrack event, Cameron tells jónsi the story of trying to get Led Zeppelin to do the cover of Rolling Stone (after the magazine famously trashed their first album).

I can see that. Zeppelin does country and the Rolling Stones covered Wild Horses, so if Zeppelin were to cover the cover of the Stones covering Gram Parsons, that would make perfect sense.
The Beatles had a company called Apple Corp. How come Yoko never sued Jobs? Even Townshend calls him a blood sucking leech. Now Yoko, there’s a real artist.
Well, you may not be cool, but you sure get to do cool stuff.
Cousin Michael saw Festival Express in a movie theater. Janis doing Tell Mama is in the middle of the FLICK. At the end of that number, the movie viewing audience, gave a STANDING ovation.
Then of course Bob Dylan came along and wrote the song; “Like a Rolling Stone”. Where did he get the idea for that title in the first place? Was it a tribute to the band? For that matter, where did The Band get the name of their band and where did the Rolling Stones get the name for their band? Of course there is the old colloquialism, but who the heck ever came up with that? As far as Bob Dylan goes, Joni Mitchel says he’s as phony as Cate Blanchett because he doesn’t even use his real name.
I once had a photography teacher, Michael Henley of Portland, who warned the class that he didn’t want to hear any fish stories about the one that got away.
The movie Stoned depicts the relationship between Brian Jones and Keith Richards. In the movie there is featured a poster for the movie “Blow Up”.
“If Gram was here today, he’d still be dead.”
Gram Parsons was the green carnation of Brian Jones. Their relationship with Keith Richards was identical. Keith Richards credits Gram on being an expert on all styles of country music. Keith Richard himself, has studied personally with all the great living blues masters of his time and can demonstrate every style of blues guitar.
Enjoyed hearing about Jimmy Page. What a life to be able to go on the road at such a young age.
